Consumer Reports selects Kia Sorento and Lexus RX as Best SUVs in 2016 Top Picks

Yonkers, NY – Seven new vehicles made Consumer Reports’ 2016 Annual Top Picks list—the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Kia Sorento, Toyota Sienna, Toyota Camry, Lexus RX, Honda Fit, and Ford F-150 — in each of their respective categories.
The redesigned Ford F-150 was named best Pickup Truck, thanks in part to its fuel economy, quiet and spacious cabin, and much-improved infotainment system. It’s Ford’s first win in the category since 1999 and its first overall Top Pick honor since 2012.

Toyota Yaris continues to underwhelm in hatchback category
Yonkers, NY – With its nimble handling and well-equipped cabin, the Kia Rio EX outpointed the Hyundai Accent and Chevrolet Sonic as the top rated sub-compact sedan in Consumer Reports’ latest tests.
The Rio’s hatchback version scored lower, but sits firmly in third place behind the previously tested and higher-rated Honda Fit and Nissan Versa SL among the subcompact hatchbacks tested with automatic transmissions. [Read more]
Honda Fit Repeats at Top of Consumer Reports Best New-Car Value List

Analysis of performance, reliability, and owner cost finds small cars and family sedans deliver the most bang for the buck
Yonkers, NY – Despite the influx of new vehicles into the small- and budget-car marketplace, the Honda Fit remains on top in Consumer Reports list of best value small cars. The Fit also reemerged as the best overall value among some 200 different vehicles that were analyzed.
“A low price doesn’t necessarily make a car a good value,” said Rik Paul, automotive editor at Consumer Reports. “A cheap vehicle can wind up costing you more money over time or can be disappointing down the road. We think real value is what you get for your money.”
