Tennessee State Parks Host Day After Thanksgiving Hikes

Nashville, TN – Tennessee State Parks will offer free, guided hikes at all 56 of its parks on Friday, November 25th, the day after Thanksgiving. This is the third year for this event, and one in a series of five statewide ranger-led hikes throughout the year.
“Our public lands are here for all to enjoy and the After Thanksgiving Hikes are a perfect way to have fun with friends and family during the holiday,” said Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Commissioner Bob Martineau. “Our parks offer something for everyone, so all ages and abilities are encouraged to join us for a peaceful stroll or a rugged trek.”
Experience Fall Colors at Land Between the Lakes

The public is encouraged to drive the public access roads, or hike, bike, ride on horseback or ATVs, on hundreds of miles of designated trails while enjoying the cooler days and changing seasons.
LBL Fall Fest at Woodlands Nature Station November 7th

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station celebrates the arrival of autumn during Fall Fest Saturday, November 7th, from 10:00am-4:00pm.
Fall Fest features a variety of nature programs and activities including hayrides, live music, crafts, a seasonal hike, and appearances by Smokey Bear. Nature Station admission is $5.00 ages 13 and up, $3.00 ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and under.

“Temperature, light, and water supply trigger the natural process that cause leaves to turn from green to the stunning display of colors seen during the fall,” says Yvonne Helton, Silviculturist at Land Between The Lakes.
20th Annual Nature Station Howl-O-Ween Trail Saturday, October 25th at LBL

Golden Pond, KY – Come out to Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 for some kid friendly, non-scary, daytime fun at the 20th Annual Nature Station Howl-O-Ween Trail from 1:00pm until 4:30pm. Take a 1/4 mile guided woodland walk at the superhero-themed bash.
Admission is $5.00 for all ages and free for ages 4 and under.
