Rates Increase in 95 Counties
Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s unemployment rate for January was 9.5 percent, up 0.1 from the December rate. The national unemployment rate for January 2011 was 9.0 percent, 0.4 percentage point lower than the December rate.
County non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for January 2011, released today, show that the rate increased in 95 counties.

Rates Decrease in 43 Counties, Increase in 38, Remain the Same in 14
Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s unemployment rate for October was 9.4 percent, unchanged from the September rate. The national unemployment rate for October 2010 was 9.6 percent, unchanged from the September rate.
County non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for October 2010, released today, show that the rate decreased in 43 counties, increased in 38 counties and remained the same in 14 counties. [Read more]
