Land Between the Lakes Opens Additional Areas to Archery Deer Hunting

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Three campgrounds typically marked as “No Hunting” will open to archery deer hunting in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL). Hillman Ferry and Energy Lake campgrounds will be open to archery hunting from December 1st through January 17th, 2022.
Piney Campground will be open to archery hunting from December 6th through January 2nd. This will open up more acreage providing hunters additional opportunities to hunt deer while helping to reduce extra deer numbers around public use areas. Archery hunters are encouraged to take antlerless deer in these areas.

Land Between the Lakes Expands List of Recreation Sites Temporarily Shut Down

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – To protect public health and align with federal, state, and local guidance to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) officials have announced the temporary shutdown of facilities, campgrounds, and developed camping areas for the safety of visitors and staff.
These measures are temporary but effective immediately. A date for reopening recreation areas is currently undetermined.
LBL releases Late Fall & Winter Operation Schedule

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Visitor facilities at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area began late fall and winter operation schedules in November.
Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and Woodlands Nature Station will offer various guided programs, including the popular Bald Eagle Van and River Cruise Tours. Starting November 25th, Planetarium visitors will experience vivid laser lights set to holiday music and other holiday shows digitally projected on a 40-foot dome. Groups of 10 or more can make reservations any time by calling 270.924.2020.
More LBL Facilities Now Open

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Following last week’s storms that impacted the entire area of Land Between the Lakes, some facilities have now re-opened to the public just in time for some of their most popular events!

“No Hunting” Zones Open to Archery Deer Hunting at Land Between The Lakes

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Five areas typically marked as “No Hunting” will opened to archery deer hunting on December 1st, in Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. Hillman Ferry and Energy Lake campgrounds will be open to archery hunting through January 19th.
Piney Campground, Brandon Spring Group Center, and the South Nature Watch Demonstration Area in the eastern portion of Hunt Area 16 south of Fort Henry Road will be open to archery hunting through January 4th. Hunters are encouraged to harvest antlerless deer in these areas to maintain healthy deer populations.
LBL Welcomes Spring with 2014 Season Opening

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area began its 2014 operations today, Saturday, March 1st, by opening several popular visitor attractions.
The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations opened their doors March 1st, along with Energy Lake, Hillman Ferry, and Piney Campgrounds. The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations will be open Wednesday through Sunday during March, then open seven days a week beginning April 1st.
LBL “No Hunting” Zones Open to Archery Deer Hunting

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will open certain areas typically marked as “No Hunting” zones for archery deer hunting. Hunters are encouraged to harvest antlerless deer in these areas to reduce deer populations.
Kentucky areas will be open to archery hunting from December 1st through January 20th, including Hillman Ferry and Energy Lake campgrounds. Tennessee areas will be open to archery hunting from December 1st through January 5th and include Brandon Spring Group Center, Piney Campground, and the South Nature Watch Demonstration Area in the eastern portion of Hunt Area 16.
Land Between The Lakes Camping Reservations for 2014 Season

Golden Pond, KY – Ready to make camping reservations for 2014 at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area? Reservations may be now made for the 2014 camping season beginning November 12th, 2013.
Beginning Friday, November 15th, reservations may be made any time up to 6 months in advance.
