AAA says Distracted Driving More Than Just Talking, Texting on Your Phone

Nashville, TN – AAA believes no life is worth losing to distraction. Focused drivers save lives. AAA urges all drivers to pay attention and focus on the road during this National Distracted Driving Awareness month and all year long.
“Nationwide, nearly 3,000 people are killed in crashes involving a distracted driver, contributing to the 36,560 lives lost to crashes on U.S. roadways in 2018,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group.

Knoxville, TN – More than 102,000 traffic crashes have been caused by distracted drivers in Tennessee in just the past five years, AAA reports. In recognition of Distracted Driving Awareness Month, AAA warns drivers to put it down, don’t text and drive and avoid any activities that divert attention from the primary driving task.
Any distractions could endanger a driver, passengers, or others sharing the road including bicyclists or pedestrians.

Texting while drive is a serious, life-threatening practice is preventable. Be safe behind the wheel – be social off the road.
AAA Warns Drivers to Avoid Distractions While Behind the Wheel

Tampa, FL – In recognition of Distracted Driving Awareness Month, AAA is warning drivers to avoid any activities that divert attention from the primary driving task. Any distractions could endanger a driver, passengers, or others sharing the road, such as bicyclists or pedestrians.
In a recent AAA survey among registered voters in The Auto Club Group territory (general population in North Dakota), their number one concern in regards to keeping the roadways safer was Distracted Driving (78%) followed by Impaired Driving (73%) and Aggressive Drivers (63%).
