TWRA announces 2022-23 Gun Hunting Season for Deer Opens November 19th

Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s 2022-23 statewide gun hunting season for deer opens Saturday, November 19th. The season traditionally opens each year on the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving. During gun season, sportsmen may also use muzzleloaders or archery equipment.
“Deer hunting season is one of our state’s most cherished traditions,” said Jason Maxedon, Executive Director of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). “We hope everyone will be able to get into the woods and have the opportunity to carry someone with you to continue the tradition.”
TWRA announces the opening of 2021-22 Gun Deer Hunting Season is November 20th

TWRA announces 2017-18 Gun Hunting Season for Deer Opens November 16th

Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s 2017-18 gun hunting season for deer opens Saturday, November 18th, 2017. Deer gun season has the traditional opening date of the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving.
During gun season, sportsmen may also use muzzleloader or archery equipment. The season will continue through January 7th, 2018 and the second Young Sportsman Hunt is January 13th-14th.
Deer Hunting Season Beginning Home Stretch

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) reminds everyone that deer hunting season is nearing its conclusion in Tennessee. The gun season for deer concludes on January 8th while the second Young Sportsman Hunt for 2016-17 is January 14th-15th.
For the Young Sportsman Hunt, youth, 6-16 years of age are allowed to participate. The young sportsmen must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult at least 21 years of age who must remain in a position to take control of the hunting device.
TWRA announces 2015-16 Gun Hunting Season for Deer opens November 21st

Nashville, TN – One of Tennessee’s long-standing annual outdoors traditions begins Saturday, November 21st with the opening of the 2015-16 gun hunting season for deer. Deer gun season has the permanent opening date of the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving.

Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission sets Two Buck Limit for State’s 2015-16 Hunting Seasons

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission (TFWC) has voted to reduce the white-tailed buck limit for the 2015-16 seasons. Deer hunters will now be able to take a total of two bucks throughout the deer hunting seasons.
After months of discussion and consideration, the action came during the TFWC’s May meeting which concluded Friday at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Ray Bell Region III Building. [Read more]

TWRA announces 2014-2015 Gun Season for Deer begins November 22nd

Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s gun season for deer an annual opening on the Saturday before Thanksgiving which this year falls on November 22nd for 2014-15.
For the fourth year, sportsmen will find one continuous season that will continue through January 4th, 2015. The continuous season replaced the previously two segmented hunting seasons that were in place prior to 2011.

LBL 2013-2014 Archery Season

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area archery deer seasons open in September.
All hunters must possess State Hunting License/Deer Permit, LBL Hunter Use Permit (age 16 and over), and a Hunter Safety Card according to KY or TN state regulations.
