AAA says Memorial Day Holiday Travel to Rebound to More Than 37 Million

AAAOrlando, FL – AAA Travel expects a significant rebound in the number of Americans planning to travel this Memorial Day holiday weekend.

From May 27th through May 31st, more than 37 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home, an increase of 60% from last year when only 23 million traveled, the lowest on record since AAA began recording in 2000.

Tennessee Department of Health to begin administering Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine to Children Ages 12 and Up

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health has announced it will begin administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children ages 12-15 years. This is following the decision by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to recommend to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that the Pfizer vaccine be made available to administer to children ages 12-15 years.

Tennessee Emergency Management AgencyNashville, TN – The COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many families. TEMA is encouraging families who have lost a loved one to apply for FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Assistance to ease some financial stress and burden caused by the virus.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 Coronavirus related funeral expenses incurred after January 20th, 2020.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 702,486 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus as of Tuesday, May 4th, 2021. That is an increase of 667 cases from Tuesday’s 701,819. There have been 9,819 (+11) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

There have been two new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Henry County. The total is 3,176. There have been seventy five deaths in Henry County due to the virus. One new case of COVID-19 Coronavirus has been reported in Stewart County. The total of cases in Stewart County is 1,323. There have been twenty eight deaths in Stewart County due to the virus.
