Rising Crude Oil Prices means Higher Prices at the Gas Pump

October 11, 2021

AAAWashington, D.C. – The national average price for a gallon of gas rose 8 cents on the week to reach $3.27. This is the highest price since October 2014 and is primarily due to the surging price of crude oil, which crept above $80.00 bbl before edging slightly lower.

“The key driver for this recent rise in the price of gas is crude oil, which typically accounts for between 50% and 60% of the price at the pump,” said AAA Spokesperson Andrew Gross.

WWII Monument in North Carolina Vandalized with Praise for Communism

June 23, 2020

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – “A World War II monument in Charlotte, North Carolina, was targeted by vandals who spray-painted a hammer and sickle over the names of soldiers who died while fighting overseas,” Maddison Dibble writes in the Washington Examiner.

“Wayne White, a U.S. Air Force veteran, gathered a group of volunteers and began scrubbing the monument clean on Monday morning. He told Fox 46 that he was upset by the vandalism because it covered up the 507 names of people from Mecklenburg County who were ‘veterans and deserve the honor, respect, and dignity.’”

American Heart Association states No proof that Gum Disease causes Heart Disease or Stroke

April 21, 2012

American Heart AssociationDallas, TX – Despite popular belief, gum disease hasn’t been proven to cause atherosclerotic heart disease or stroke, and treating gum disease hasn’t been proven to prevent heart disease or stroke, according to a new scientific statement published in Circulation, an American Heart Association journal. However, an American Heart Association expert committee — made up of cardiologists, dentists and infectious diseases specialists — found no conclusive scientific evidence that gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, causes or increases the rates of cardiovascular diseases.
