Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) wants to emphasize the use of life jackets along with boating in a safe and responsible manner during the 2019 Memorial Day holiday weekend, May 24th-27th.

The Memorial Day holiday weekend is regarded as the unofficial start to the summer boating season and is one of the year’s busiest boating weekends. Last year, there were no boating-related fatalities over the holiday weekend for the fourth consecutive year.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Memorial Day holiday weekend is regarded as the unofficial start to the summer boating season and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency wants to emphasize the use of life jackets while boating in a safe and responsible manner.

Annually, the Memorial Day weekend is one of the year’s busiest boating weekends. Last year over the holiday weekend, there was one boating-related fatality which came while a Knoxville resident was launching his boat from a trailer on Douglas Lake.

Tennessee State Fire Marshal reminds everyone about Carbon Monoxide Hazards

Tennessee State Fire MarshalNashville, TN – The Tennessee State Fire Marshal Gary West is reminding Tennesseans to steer clear of carbon monoxide hazards.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, each year in America more than 150 people die from accidental, non-fire related carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning associated with consumer products.

These products include faulty, improperly used or incorrectly vented fuel-burning appliances such as furnaces, stoves, water heaters and fireplaces. [Read more]
