Wildlife Celebration at Land Between the Lakes

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station will have our annual Wildlife Celebration, Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday through Monday, May 27th-29th, 2017. Nature Station admission is $5.00 age 13 and up, $3.00 age 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.

Guests can learn all about nature’s superheroes, visit with Smokey Bear and find ways they can assist wildlife in the Nature Station’s backyard at Land Between the Lakes. Special event programs are included with standard admission unless otherwise noted.

Land Between the Lakes - LBLOffice of Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – On Saturday, June 13th, in honor of National Get Outdoors Day, Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will waive admission fees to Woodlands Nature Station. The Nature Station opens at 10am and closes at 5:00pm.

Visitors can experience the native gardens and learn about the rescued animals in the Nature Station’s backyard.

Land Between the Lakes - LBLGolden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes hosts Nature’s Most Extreme Weekend at Nature Station on Saturday, August 30th through Monday, September 1st.

The public is invited to visit with Smokey Bear, take a canoe trip, cheer on the turtles at Turtle Talladega, try a fun scavenger hunt, and experience “extreme” animals up-close!

Wildlife Celebration at Land Between The Lakes

Land Between the Lakes - LBLGolden Pond, KY – Visit Woodlands Nature Station at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area, Saturday-Monday, May 24th-26th, for Wildlife Celebration.

All programs are free with paid Nature Station admission; ages 13 and up $5.00, ages 5-12 $3.00, and ages 4 and under are free. Call to pre-register for a guided canoe or kayak trip at 270-924-2020 Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Daily canoe and kayak rentals will start Saturday, May 24th, 10:00am-4:30pm.

The public is invited to join the celebration of National Wetlands Month Memorial Day Weekend. According to Darrin Samborski, Environmental Education Specialist at LBL, “A variety of programs focusing on natural encounters with wetland wildlife and habitat conservation will be offered at the NS. Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Spend your Labor Day Weekend enjoying a variety of outdoor activities to celebrate the end of summer at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area.

Join us September 3rd-5th, as we celebrate LBL’s Summer Finale at Woodlands Nature Station (NS). Activities include appearances by Smokey Bear, canoe trips, nature hikes, a campfire, a watermelon feast, and much more. Visitors to the NS can also enjoy live animal programs, nature exhibits, backyard bird-watching, and nature trails.

Last year The Homeplace (HP) debuted the 1850’s County Fair and Storytelling Festival, enjoy this popular event again on Saturday and Sunday, September 3rd-4th, 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. [Read more]
