Unemployment Rate for Tennessee decreased in November to 6.8%

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips announced the Tennessee preliminary unemployment rate for November was 6.8 percent, three tenths of one percentage point lower than the October revised rate of 7.1 percent.
The U.S. preliminary rate for November was 5.8 percent, unchanged from the prior month.
Tennessee’s Unemployment Rate for October Decreased to 7.1%

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips announced the Tennessee preliminary unemployment rate for October was 7.1 percent, two tenths of one percentage point lower than the September revised rate of 7.3 percent.
The U.S. preliminary rate for October was 5.8 percent, down from 5.9 percent in September.
Tennessee’s Unemployment Rate for July Increased To 7.1%

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips announced today the Tennessee preliminary unemployment rate for July was 7.1 percent, five tenths of one percentage point higher than the 6.6 June revised rate.
The U.S. preliminary rate for July was 6.2 percent, up from 6.1 percent in June.

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips announced the Tennessee’s unemployment rate for May was 8.3 percent, which increased three tenths of one percentage point from the April revised rate of 8.0 percent.
The national unemployment rate for May 2013 was 7.6 percent, increasing by one tenth of one percentage point from the previous month.

Partial Completers Risk Having To Start Over In 2014
Nashville, TN – Tennesseans who have not taken the GED® high school equivalency test or who have passed some but not all parts of the GED® have only the remainder of 2013 to earn their high school credential under the current test structure, Tennessee Labor & Workforce Development Acting Commissioner Burns Phillips announced.
Beginning January 1st, 2014, partial test scores will be invalid and will not transfer to the new high school equivalency test.
