TBI reports Frederick Yates Jr. of Humboldt Indicted in Gibson County Double Homicide

Milan, TN – A joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Gibson County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the indictment of a man on charges connected to a double homicide.
At the request of 28th District Attorney General Frederick Agee, on August 23rd, TBI special agents joined investigators with the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office in investigating a double homicide at a home in the 100 block of Wilbur Nelson Road in Milan.
Marcus Smith (DOB: 5/16/00), of Humboldt, and Diamond Love (DOB: 3/28/01), who lived at the residence, were found deceased inside the home.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports Big Sandy Man Indicted in Son’s Murder, Charged with Attempted Murder of TBI Agents

Big Sandy, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) reports a Benton County couple has been indicted and arrested in connection with the 2020 death of the man’s son and face new charges stemming from their arrest today, including the attempted murder of two TBI special agents.
On November 15th, 2020, at the request of 24th District Attorney General Matt Stowe, TBI special agents began investigating a homicide that occurred earlier that same day at a home in the 100 block of New Hope Road.
TBI’s “Operation Thundering Justice” makes Drug Indictments, Arrests

Huntingdon, TN – An undercover operation spanning more than a year into the sale of illicit drugs throughout Carroll County has resulted in the indictment of numerous individuals.
“Operation Thundering Justice,” led by special agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the Huntingdon Police Department, the McKenzie Police Department, and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, began in January 2020. During the investigation, authorities conducted multiple controlled purchases, surveillance, and research.
On September 8th, the Carroll County Grand Jury returned indictments, charging 19 people in connection to the ongoing investigation.

Henry County Correctional Officer Arrested, Charged

Paris, TN – An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Henry County Correctional Officer on charges of having inappropriate contact with an inmate.
At the request of 24th District Attorney General Matt Stowe, today, TBI agents began investigating a report of a Henry County Correctional Officer having inappropriate contact with a female inmate inside her cell over the last week.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Paris Gun Store Burglary suspects arrested in Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Clarksville Police Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol apprehended three adults and two juveniles in connection to a gun store burglary.
The burglary occurred at JMC Firearms in Paris, Tennessee at approximately 4:28am on Monday, March 16th, 2020. The suspect vehicle was pursued by the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office and was picked up by Montgomery County Deputies at the Stewart and Montgomery County line on Dover Road. Deputies effectively deployed spike strips as the vehicle continued east on Dover Road.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation charge Douglas Talley in 2001 Paris Murder Case

Paris, TN – Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Special Agents have obtained indictments in connection to an 18-year-old homicide case.
On June 8th, 2001, the Paris Police Department responded to a home at 322 Rison Street in Paris, where investigators found Etta Etheridge (DOB: 4/6/29) inside unresponsive. Her death was ruled a homicide.
At the request of 24th District Attorney General, over the years that followed, TBI Agents and investigators from the Paris Police Department conducted an extensive joint investigation.
TBI arrests David Anderson for Shooting Death of Carroll County Man

Jackson, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), working alongside investigators from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, have arrested and charged a Yuma man in connection to the death of his neighbor.
On Friday, at the request of 24th District Attorney General Matthew Stowe, TBI Agents joined the investigation into the apparent shooting death of Ben Cole Birdwell, shortly after authorities found the body of the 64-year-old on a railroad easement near his School House Road property.
TBI Indicts Three People Accused of Abuse of a Corpse in Death Investigation of Henry County Woman

Jackson, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, working in cooperation with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and the Puryear Police Department, have obtained indictments for three individuals accused of abusing a corpse.
At the request of 24th District Attorney General Matthew Stowe, TBI Agents joined the investigation into the death of a woman identified as 20-year-old Emily Webb, found in her car July 10th along Blood River Church Road.
TBI casework yields Indictment, Murder Charge in Hardin County Investigation

Jackson, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a Selmer man accused in connection to the homicide of a Shiloh man earlier this year.
At the request of 24th District Attorney General Matthew Stowe, TBI Agents began investigating the death of Sidney Layne Burks on May 5th, a day after authorities from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department found the body of the 55-year-old in his Pratt Lane home.
Carroll County Man arrested on Multiple Drug-Related Charges

Jackson, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and other West Tennessee law enforcement agencies has resulted in the arrest of a McKenzie man on drug-related charges.
Special Agents began investigating a complaint against Tanner Scott Workman, following a tip. Agents and detectives with the Paris/ Henry County Metro Narcotics Unit and the McKenzie Police Department obtained and executed a search warrant at Workman’s residence at 530 Paw Paw Lane.
