TWRA, USFWS offer reward for Arrest in Shooting of Bald Eagle in West Tennessee

Decatur County, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), along with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are investigating a shooting of a bald eagle in West Tennessee. The injured eagle was reported on December 30th, 2019 around 3:00pm in Decatur County. A $2,500 reward is being offered for an arrest.
The eagle was found off Martins Landing Road in Bath Springs. TWRA wildlife officer Brant Luker responded to the call and the bald eagle was transported alive, but injured to the North Madison Animal Hospital on December 31st.
National Get Outdoors Day

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station will waive admission fees Saturday, June 10th, 2017, at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area, in honor of National Get Outdoors Day. The Nature Station is open 10:00am-5:00pm.
Come experience native gardens and rescued wildlife in the Nature Station’s backyard. Visitors may observe a bald eagle during a “Bald Is Beautiful” program from 11:30am-12:00pm.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Offers $2500.00 Reward in Bald Eagle Shootings

Crossville, TN – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a $2500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution in the shooting of two bald eagles in the Tennessee River valley. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) along with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service continue their investigation investigating the shooting of two bald eagles in the Tennessee River Valley.

Eagle Viewing Opportunities at Land Between The Lakes

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – During January and February, van tours and Kentucky Lake cruises will take visitors to several bald eagle viewing hot spots around the 170,000-acre Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.
In addition to bald eagles, visitors will likely see native wildlife such as ducks, turkeys, deer, and herons. Land Between The Lakes partners with Kenlake State Resort Park to host a weekend of brunch and lunch cruises on Kentucky Lake January 16th-18th on the CQ Princess, a 96-foot luxury yacht.
Rehabilitated Bald Eagle Released at Land Between The Lakes

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – A young bald eagle was released back into the wild Saturday, October 10th, 2015, at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area near Duncan Lake.
Forest Service volunteer eagle nest monitor, Ray Stainfield, found the young eagle out of its nest during routine eagle nest monitoring in June. Ray noticed a stick hidden under its left wing. The eagle’s breast had begun to grow around the stick and required treatment. [Read more]
