50 Companies Join President Donald Trump’s War on Coronavirus

Washington, D.C. – “Some 50 major American firms have joined the national war on the coronavirus, many volunteering to shift their focus and even assembly lines to deliver needed supplies to doctors, hospitals, first responders and others on the front lines,” Paul Bedard reports for the Washington Examiner.
“Most said that they answered President Trump’s call for help,” Bedard writes. The companies that have enlisted include Facebook, Anheuser-Busch, Ford, Fiat Chrysler, and many others. “Other national and local groups have also brought in corporate partners to help find masks, gowns, and other personal protective equipment.”

Knoxville, TN – With more than 102 million people expected to travel by automobile this holiday season – the most on record since AAA began tracking holiday travel in 2001 – AAA is reminding motorists to celebrate safely and take steps ahead of time to avoid getting behind the wheel impaired.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the season between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day is one of the deadliest times on the road when it comes to impaired driving.

Knoxville, TN – In 2015, 30 people (25% of all crash fatalities) were killed in drunk-driving crashes over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday period, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
During post-party hours, between midnight and 5:59am, nearly a third of crash fatalities involved drunk drivers.

Tampa, FL – Independence Day traditionally ranks as one of the year’s deadliest holidays due to drunk-driving crashes.
The most recent data available from the 2014 holiday weekend revealed that 164 people were killed in crashes involving at least one driver with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or higher. That number represents almost half (41%) of all crash fatalities for the entire holiday weekend.
