One in three American women die of heart disease and stroke, and in Tennessee, 9000 women lose their lives each year.<\/p>\n<p>Yet up to 80% of cardiac events are preventable through education and lifestyle choices we make every day.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, February 6th, to show support for women\u2019s hearts, everyone is asked to wear Red and share Red on social media with the local hashtag #NashGoRed.<\/p>\n<h3>How is Middle Tennessee \u201cgoing red\u201d? Highlights include:<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Babies Go Red \u2013 Friday, February 6th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>On Friday the 6th, newborns in Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital and Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital will wear custom-made red knit caps in honor of National Wear Red Day to show support for their moms\u2019 heart health. Their moms will receive infant CPR kits and gift bags.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Buildings Go Red \u2013 Friday, February 6th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Twenty-two buildings in Middle Tennessee will light up in red in the evening to mark National Wear Red Day. All buildings will be red on Feb. 6; buildings with extended dates are noted. From February 10th-16th, customers who purchase a Red Dress pin will receive all-day savings. Macy&#8217;s will donate 100% of the proceeds from pin sales to Go Red For Women.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Tennessee General Assembly Goes Red \u2013 Thursday, Feb. 5th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Rep. Brenda Gilmore will introduce a resolution to proclaim National Wear Red Day during the session that day. Legislators will wear an element of red.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Nashville Symphony Goes Red \u2013 Feb. 6th-8th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Nashville Symphony will support Go Red For Women during three performances on the weekend of February 6th. Symphony members will wear the Red Dress pin, and guests will receive Go Red information in their programs.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>TPAC Goes Red \u2013 Feb. 6th-8th<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>TPAC, in addition to lighting their building from February 3rd-8th, will distribute Go Red information to theatergoers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Churches Go Red<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Churches holding Go Red Sunday services: Mt.
