The event was held in conjunction with the Tennessee Grocers and Convenience Store Association\u2019s annual convention.<\/p>\n<p>Among the day\u2019s best were Gold Award winning Chubby Bunny Baby Foods, owned by Madison resident Jem Boyd, who took the top prize for her products made with local produce. The Silver Award went to Bradley\u2019s Chocolate Factory, owned and operated by Knoxville\u2019s Hamlett family. The Bronze Award went to Veronica Hawbaker for her Soberdough Brew Bread, a packaged bread mix. <!--more-->This was the first time any of the three winning companies had participated in the tradeshow, which is conducted every two years.<\/p>\n<p>The Pick Tennessee Products \u201cPick of Tennessee\u201d were judged on taste, packaging and originality.<\/p>\n<p>Other companies who garnered honorable mentions were a \u201cMy Friend Who Loves to Cook\u201d Sunday Morning Pancake Mix, manufactured by Nashville\u2019s Samantha Williams; and Sophie\u2019s Choice packaged mixes for pretzels and crackers, made by Tracie Graham in Rockwood; and Tilted Palm Beverages, produced by Phillip Connelly in Nashville.<\/p>\n<p>For their commitment to using Tennessee grown and manufactured products, The Kroger Company was presented with a \u201cFriend of Pick Tennessee Products\u201d award. WCTE Upper Cumberland PBS was also presented the \u201cFriend for Pick Tennessee Products\u201d award for their service to Tennessee through their statewide program, \u201cLive Green Tennessee\u201d and other agriculture related programming.<\/p>\n<p>Pick Tennessee Products was developed by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to help consumers connect with locally grown and produced foods and other agriculture related enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to food manufacturers, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.picktnproducts.org\" >www.picktnproducts.org<\/a> also posts directories of the state\u2019s county fairs, equine trails and services, local meats and dairies, and agritourism farms and activities of all kinds.
