In January 2021, Governor Lee convened the Tennessee General Assembly for a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/governor\/news\/2021\/1\/19\/gov--bill-lee-remarks-as-prepared-for-delivery-on-special-session.html\" >special legislative session<\/a> to pass policies to mitigate COVID-19 disruptions and support Tennessee students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis past summer, Tennessee school districts launched rich academic programs and thoughtfully prioritized student and family engagement to help their students get extra learning time and recover from a very tough school year.
