Today, Tuesday, September 8th, 2020, the Tennessee Department of Education\u202fannounced a third phase of its partnership with statewide PBS stations to help ensure children continue to have access to educational content throughout the fall semester.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_315479\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/School-Education.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-315479\" class=\"wp-image-315479 size-medium\" title=\"Tennessee Department of Education releases Schedule for Third Phase of Video Lessons.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/School-Education-480x313.jpg\" alt=\"Tennessee Department of Education releases Schedule for Third Phase of Video Lessons.\" width=\"480\" height=\"313\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-315479\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tennessee Department of Education releases Schedule for Third Phase of Video Lessons.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Starting September 8th, all six Tennessee PBS stations\u2013 WNPT Nashville, East Tennessee PBS, WCTE Upper Cumberland, WKNO Memphis, West TN PBS, and Chattanooga WTCI \u2013 will offer high quality educational programming weekdays from 9:00am \u201311:00am CST, through the fall semester. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the month of September, programming will focus on ELA and math for 1st- 4th&nbsp;grades.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are incredibly grateful for&nbsp;to our partners at&nbsp;PBS&nbsp;across the state&nbsp;who&nbsp;are continuing to help&nbsp;provide access to educational content to Tennessee families and students,\u201d&nbsp;said Commissioner Penny Schwinn.&nbsp;\u201cThese&nbsp;videos&#8211;&nbsp;created by Tennessee teachers in Tennessee classrooms\u2014were viewed heavily through the spring and summer,&nbsp;so we are excited to continue the partnership and&nbsp;help&nbsp;keep students&nbsp;reading, exploring, and learning&nbsp;throughout the fall&nbsp;semester.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with Tennessee teachers and districts, the department created an at-home learning series consisting of a total of 320 virtual classroom lessons providing ELA and Math instruction for 1st&nbsp;\u20138th&nbsp;grade students,&nbsp;&nbsp;to help ensure children had access to learning opportunities regardless of internet connectivity in their home.&nbsp;&nbsp;The video lessons are&nbsp;also&nbsp;available&nbsp;on the department\u2019s&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/TNDeptofEducation\" >YouTube page<\/a>&nbsp;and have had more than&nbsp;100,000&nbsp;views&nbsp;there&nbsp;since the spring.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGetting academic instruction daily is so critical for our students, but not everyone has reliable access to the internet,\u201d said&nbsp;Eric Lomax, director of Perry County Schools. \u201cPBS has always been a supporter of public education and we are thankful that kids across the state will continue to have access to these videos, broadcasting right from their TVs, during the fall semester.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As the school year&nbsp;is now in full swing, families&nbsp;will have access to learning opportunities for their children regardless of&nbsp;school or district instruction model.&nbsp;During&nbsp;the fall semester, the schedule will be updated on the department\u2019s&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/education\/pbsteaching.html\" >PBS Teaching Tennessee webpage<\/a>&nbsp;and the PBS affiliate stations\u2019 websites.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule for September 8th- September 25th, Monday through Friday:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>9:00 AM CT:&nbsp;<\/strong>1<sup>st<\/sup>Grade ELA&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>9:30 AM CT:&nbsp;<\/strong>1<sup>st<\/sup>Grade Math&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>10:00 AM CT:&nbsp;<\/strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup>Grade ELA&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>10&nbsp;:30 AM CT:&nbsp;<\/strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup>Grade Math&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule for September 28th- October 2n, Monday through Friday:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>9:00am CT: <\/strong>3<sup>rd <\/sup>Grade ELA&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>9:30am CT: <\/strong>3<sup>rd <\/sup>Grade Math&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>10:00am CT: <\/strong>4<sup>th <\/sup>Grade ELA&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>10:30am CT: <\/strong>4<sup>th <\/sup>Grade&nbsp;Math&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe Tennessee public television stations are committed to serving our children and families every day.&nbsp;
