{"id":16542,"date":"2020-07-01T20:15:06","date_gmt":"2020-07-02T01:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/?p=16542"},"modified":"2020-07-01T20:15:06","modified_gmt":"2020-07-02T01:15:06","slug":"tdoe-releases-continuous-learning-plan-template-rubric-to-support-local-school-district-plans-for-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/2020\/07\/01\/tdoe-releases-continuous-learning-plan-template-rubric-to-support-local-school-district-plans-for-fall\/","title":{"rendered":"TDOE Releases Continuous Learning Plan Template &#038; Rubric to Support Local School District Plans for Fall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-335392\" title=\"Tennessee Department of Education\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Tennessee-Department-of-Education.jpg\" alt=\"Tennessee Department of Education\" width=\"250\" height=\"111\">Nashville, TN <\/strong>&#8211; On Friday, June 26th, 2020, the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) posted the Continuous Learning Plan template and rubric to assist districts as they plan for the upcoming school year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On June 22nd, 2020, the Tennessee State Board of Education promulgated the Continuous Learning Plan (CLP) Emergency Rule 0520-01-17 and Policy 3.210.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/School-Opening.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-492392\" title=\"School Opening\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/School-Opening-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"School Opening\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\"><\/a><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>That rule and policy required the Tennessee Department of Education to produce and post by June 26th a CLP template and rubric for districts to utilize when developing their plans for maintaining academic instruction in the new school year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we&nbsp;navigate&nbsp;a new era for education, the department&nbsp;has been working&nbsp;to create expansive guidance for districts&nbsp;as they make local decisions&nbsp;for their schools in&nbsp;the new school year,\u201d&nbsp;said Commissioner Penny Schwinn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Continuous Learning Plans represent the next phase of work to reopen schools and will help to ensure every student receives academic instruction each day, whether they are learning at home or in the classroom,\u201d Schwinn stated.<\/p>\n<p>Per the State Board rule and policy, each district and public charter school must submit to the Tennessee&nbsp;Department&nbsp;of Education the CLP for their schools.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/education\/health-and-safety\/update-on-coronavirus\/continuous-learning-plans.html\" >Continuous Learning Plan&nbsp;template and rubric<\/a>&nbsp;are&nbsp;now available for districts to utilize:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Continuous%20Learning%20Plans%20Template,%20Guidance%20and%20Rubric.pdf\" >Continuous Learning Plan Template<\/a>:&nbsp;The&nbsp;template&nbsp;includes eight required sections and one optional section that&nbsp;district leaders&nbsp;must&nbsp;complete&nbsp;to outline their plans for&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;academic instruction&nbsp;for students.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/CLP%20Rubric.xlsx\" >Continuous Learning Plan Rubric<\/a>: The rubric&nbsp;provides transparency for district leaders in how their CLP will be scored,&nbsp;and clearly outlines approaches that districts may take to ensure they are developing thorough CLPs.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe emergency rule and policy that the State Board passed last Monday are designed to support the continuity of instruction during this uncertain time.
