{"id":16516,"date":"2020-06-28T20:20:35","date_gmt":"2020-06-29T01:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/?p=16516"},"modified":"2020-06-28T20:02:58","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T01:02:58","slug":"twra-announces-falconry-permit-period-to-begin-july-1st","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/2020\/06\/28\/twra-announces-falconry-permit-period-to-begin-july-1st\/","title":{"rendered":"TWRA announces Falconry Permit Period to begin July 1st"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-46127\" title=\"Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRA\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/tennessee-wildlife-resources-agency.gif\" alt=\"Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRA\" width=\"140\" height=\"137\"><strong>Nashville, TN<\/strong> &#8211; The 2020 application period for the trapping of a peregrine falcon to be used in falconry will begin July 1st, 2020 the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has announced.<\/p>\n<p>The number of permits to be allowed for the taking of peregrine falcons to be used in falconry is three this year as allowed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.<\/p>\n<p>The TWRA will award the permits to the winners of a draw to be held on Wednesday, August 26th.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_148613\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Peregrine-Falcon.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-148613\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-148613\" title=\"Peregrine Falcon\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Peregrine-Falcon-480x319.jpg\" alt=\"Peregrine Falcon\" width=\"480\" height=\"319\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-148613\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Peregrine Falcon<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Falconers may go to the Falconry Information and Application under the Law Enforcement section of the TWRA\u2019s website to locate the print-ready application and also view the requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Resident and non-resident master and general falconers are eligible for participation in the draw. Completed applications must be postmarked by Saturday, August 15th.<\/p>\n<p>Another change made last year is the permits will be allowed statewide. Previously, Peregrine falcons were only allowed to be taken from counties located in the TWRA\u2019s Region I (West Tennessee). One permit had been issued for the past seven years in Tennessee.
