The Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) released the 5th&nbsp;set of&nbsp;school reopening toolkits&nbsp;in a series of&nbsp;more than&nbsp;20 resources&nbsp;and guidance&nbsp;documents&nbsp;to&nbsp;assist&nbsp;districts&nbsp;as they plan for the upcoming school year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This release makes available three classroom example videos along with four more reopening toolkits providing considerations, recommendations, and best practices to help district and school leaders dive deeper as they make local plans for the 2020-21 school year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_492392\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/School-Opening.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-492392\" class=\"wp-image-492392 size-medium\" title=\"Tennessee Department of Education Releases Five Additional Toolkits in Series of 20+ Reopening Resources.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/School-Opening-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"Tennessee Department of Education Releases Five Additional Toolkits in Series of 20+ Reopening Resources.\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-492392\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tennessee Department of Education Releases Five Additional Toolkits in Series of 20+ Reopening Resources.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Tennessee Department of Education worked closely with the Tennessee Department of Health on guidance for physical health, safety, as well as the sample procedures and classroom videos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur state and nation&nbsp;are&nbsp;navigating a new frontier for education,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;department is working hard to provide our districts with detailed and practical resources&nbsp;that will equip our leaders to make the best local decisions&nbsp;to meet these challenges,\u201d said Commissioner Penny Schwinn.&nbsp;\u201cAs our state moves forward together, I&nbsp;am so grateful&nbsp;for&nbsp;the commitment of&nbsp;each of&nbsp;our districts to Tennessee\u2019s students and how they are making thoughtful&nbsp;local&nbsp;reopening plans to keep our kids as the top priority.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The following four toolkits are now available for districts to utilize:&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Physical%20Health.pdf\" >Physical&nbsp;Health<\/a>:&nbsp;This toolkit is designed to provide an overview of considerations related to school and public health safety&nbsp;and includes&nbsp;guidance&nbsp;for schools from the Tennessee Department of Health.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/School%20Improvement.pdf\" >School Improvement<\/a>:&nbsp;This toolkit&nbsp;includes strategies and best practices for supporting Priority and Focus school turnaround throughout the school re-opening process.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Safety%20and%20Operations.pdf\" >Safety &amp; Operations<\/a>:&nbsp;This toolkit is designed to assist district leaders, SAVE Act Coordinators, and operations leads as they consider the physical safety of students from both security and school building perspectives.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Reopening%20Procedures.pdf\" >Procedures&nbsp;Guide<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;sample&nbsp;videos:&nbsp;This document is&nbsp;intended to take the guidance provided in the&nbsp;department\u2019s&nbsp;LEA Guide and reopening toolkits and create sample procedures that schools can follow.&nbsp;Alongside this&nbsp;toolkit, the&nbsp;videos&nbsp;provide&nbsp;visual&nbsp;examples&nbsp;to help district leaders and school administrators think through considerations as they set-up&nbsp;classrooms in&nbsp;preparation&nbsp;for the fall.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/0G6eb1LSoUg\" >School Reopening Example Video: Classroom Set Up 1<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/F3SPRuD69XU\" >School Reopening Example Video: Classroom Set Up 2<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Yl7t76c347o&amp;list=PLZTYHUY2zirE3vGcFUJMjlu1cmnx0toXP&amp;index=4&amp;t=0s\" >School Reopening Example Video: Classroom Set Up 3<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The school reopening example videos&nbsp;are located&nbsp;on the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLZTYHUY2zirE3vGcFUJMjlu1cmnx0toXP\" >Tennessee Department of Education\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[470center]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The department will update the toolkits after release to reflect district findings and best practices.
