{"id":16449,"date":"2020-06-20T12:29:23","date_gmt":"2020-06-20T17:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/?p=16449"},"modified":"2020-06-19T21:35:52","modified_gmt":"2020-06-20T02:35:52","slug":"tennessee-department-of-education-releases-fourth-set-of-school-reopening-toolkits-to-provide-districts-with-guidance-resources-to-prepare-for-upcoming-school-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/2020\/06\/20\/tennessee-department-of-education-releases-fourth-set-of-school-reopening-toolkits-to-provide-districts-with-guidance-resources-to-prepare-for-upcoming-school-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennessee Department of Education Releases Fourth Set of School Reopening Toolkits to Provide Districts with Guidance, Resources to Prepare for Upcoming School Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-335392\" title=\"Tennessee Department of Education\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Tennessee-Department-of-Education.jpg\" alt=\"Tennessee Department of Education\" width=\"250\" height=\"111\">Nashville, TN <\/strong>&#8211; The Tennessee Department of Education has released the 4th set of school reopening toolkits in a series of over 20 resources to provide districts with&nbsp;considerations and guidance as they locally decide the best course of action for the fall.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_492392\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/School-Opening.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-492392\" class=\"wp-image-492392 size-medium\" title=\"Tennessee Department of Education Provides Additional Topic-Specific Resources in Series of 20+ Reopening Toolkits.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/School-Opening-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"Tennessee Department of Education Provides Additional Topic-Specific Resources in Series of 20+ Reopening Toolkits.\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-492392\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tennessee Department of Education Provides Additional Topic-Specific Resources in Series of 20+ Reopening Toolkits.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This series of&nbsp;reopening&nbsp;toolkits and guidance is intended to help district leaders dive deeper into&nbsp;considerations, recommendations, and best practices&nbsp;for the upcoming school year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are encouraged by the feedback we have received statewide from district and school leaders in response to our school reopening toolkits and guidance, and we will continue to partner with our&nbsp;districts&nbsp;as they prepare for the fall and make local decisions on how to best serve their students,\u201d said Commissioner Penny Schwinn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The following four toolkits are now available for district use:&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Staffing.pdf\" ><strong>Staffing<\/strong><\/a><strong>:&nbsp;<\/strong>This toolkit will layout considerations related to human resources,<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>staffing decisions and ideas to create an inclusive environment for all school and district staff.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Professional%20Development.pdf\" ><strong>Professional Development<\/strong><\/a><strong>:&nbsp;<\/strong>This toolkit&nbsp;highlights the need for&nbsp;training, professional development sessions, and ongoing support for educators to prepare for the reopening of school and adapt their practices to meet the needs of new, unique learning environments.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Assessing%20Student%20Learning.pdf\" ><strong>Assessing Student Learning<\/strong><\/a><strong>:&nbsp;<\/strong>This toolkit&nbsp;is designed to help Tennessee districts create strong district-level plans for&nbsp;measuring&nbsp;student learning during these unique times and to adjust instructional practices to effectively and efficiently support ongoing learning.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Governance.pdf\" ><strong>Governance<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong>&nbsp;This toolkit is intended to highlight those areas most closely related to governance questions, considerations, and needs in our local districts.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Tennessee Department of Education will update the toolkits as needed after release to reflect district best practices and findings.
