The Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) has released the second set of reopening toolkits in a series of over 20 topic-specific resources to assist district leaders in making local decisions for school reopening this coming school year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur department has invested a&nbsp;tremendous amount of time, thoughtfulness, and expertise to ensure we provide the best guidance for district&nbsp;and school leaders&nbsp;as they make local decisions, and I&nbsp;am&nbsp;grateful for the effort across&nbsp;the department and state,\u201d said Commissioner Penny Schwinn.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_492392\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/School-Opening.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-492392\" class=\"wp-image-492392 size-medium\" title=\"Tennessee Department of Education Releases Five More Toolkits in Series of 20+ Reopening Resources\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/School-Opening-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"Tennessee Department of Education Releases Five More Toolkits in Series of 20+ Reopening Resources\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-492392\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tennessee Department of Education Releases Five More Toolkits in Series of 20+ Reopening Resources<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>These five toolkits are available for districts to utilize:&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Technology.pdf\" ><strong>Technology<\/strong><\/a><strong>:&nbsp;<\/strong>This toolkit highlights the important role technology may play in daily instruction, whether taking place in the school building or in a distance learning environment.&nbsp;Schools may leverage this opportunity to further build on their instructional technology strategies, offering students and teachers additional blended learning experiences to further promote academic progress, but&nbsp;will first need to survey the capacity and needs of their students and staff.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Wellbeing%20and%20Mental%20Health.pdf\" ><strong>Wellbeing &amp; Mental Health<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong>&nbsp;This toolkit is designed to assist district leaders, school administrators, and school counselors in providing opportunities to support wellness of school staff and social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of students.&nbsp;The guidance in this document also outlines important considerations&nbsp;for&nbsp;continuing&nbsp;emotional and&nbsp;mental health supports for an in-person, virtual distance learning environment, or hybrid approach.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Counseling.pdf\" ><strong>Counseling<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong>&nbsp;This toolkit will assist district leaders, school administrators, and school counselors in providing opportunities to support wellness of school staff and social, emotional, physical, and academic wellbeing of students.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Early%20Childhood.pdf\" ><strong>Early&nbsp;Childhood<\/strong><\/a><strong>:&nbsp;<\/strong>This&nbsp;toolkit provides developmentally appropriate guidance to assist programs in their planning for safe reopening of early childhood programs.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/content\/dam\/tn\/education\/health-&amp;-safety\/Consolidated%20Funding.pdf\" >Consolidated Funding<\/a>:&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;This toolkit provides a checklist, best practices, and information on braiding and blending to maximize funding.
