Hospitals, state governments, and Federal agencies all earned positive reviews, too. The only institution that most people didn\u2019t trust? The news media.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nMany in the media got the story wrong from the start. They insisted the COVID-19 Coronavirus posed <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/whitehouse.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4da4828d48b4efa4fc1138955&amp;id=4a0f70ce49&amp;e=6b36942091\" >no real threat<\/a> to Americans.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/West-Wing.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-478008\" title=\"The White House - West Wing. (Official White House Photo)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/West-Wing-480x240.jpg\" alt=\"The White House - West Wing. (Official White House Photo)\" width=\"480\" height=\"240\"><\/a><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>They joined Democrats and the World Health Organization (WHO) in attacking President Trump\u2019s early <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/whitehouse.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4da4828d48b4efa4fc1138955&amp;id=6a1e1072e5&amp;e=6b36942091\" >China travel restrictions<\/a> as unnecessary, even \u201cxenophobic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They parroted <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/whitehouse.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4da4828d48b4efa4fc1138955&amp;id=deb0192fde&amp;e=6b36942091\" >Chinese government propaganda<\/a> to make their case.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nResponsible journalists and politicians would own up to these failures and vow to fix them. Instead, irresponsible ones are attempting to rewrite history.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nWhile they downplayed the virus and its risks, President Trump took action. Here\u2019s just a sample of what his Administration has done over the past 3 months:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>On January 29th<\/strong>, the President assembled his White House Coronavirus Task Force. Two days later, he declared a Public Health Emergency and restricted travel from China.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>On February 4th<\/strong>, President Trump vowed to protect Americans in his State of the Union Address and issued Emergency Use Authorization for Medical Devices. On February 24th, he requested $2.5 billion from Congress to combat the virus\u2019 spread.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>On March 6th<\/strong>, the President signed Coronavirus preparedness funding into law. Between March 11th and March 18th, he restricted travel from Europe, declared a National Emergency, issued aggressive national Coronavirus Guidelines, and signed the Family First Response Act. By the end of March, he\u2019d sign a historic $2.2 trillion economic relief package negotiated by the Administration into law.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>By April 9th<\/strong>, more than 2 million Americans had been tested for Coronavirus\u2014by far the most testing of any country on Earth. The same day, Vice President Mike Pence announced that the Paycheck Protection Program had already approved more than $125 billion in forgivable loans in fewer than 5 full days of operation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nWhen pundits are wrong, their instinct is to divide Americans, not unite them. Real leaders, Democrat or Republican, don\u2019t do this: They work together to get things done. This morning, Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) highlighted his working relationship with President Trump, who he praised for delivering on his promise to help New York.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u201cIf you do the right thing by New York, I\u2019ll say it,\u201d Gov. Cuomo said.&nbsp; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/whitehouse.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4da4828d48b4efa4fc1138955&amp;id=ebdfb99b93&amp;e=6b36942091\" >\u201cHe has delivered for New York.\u201d<\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nRealClearPolitics: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/whitehouse.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4da4828d48b4efa4fc1138955&amp;id=22523468f0&amp;e=6b36942091\" >The media just \u201ccan\u2019t help themselves.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Washington, D.C. &#8211; Last month, most Americans surveyed by Gallup approved of President Donald Trump\u2019s Coronavirus response.
