{"id":14538,"date":"2019-06-02T22:00:06","date_gmt":"2019-06-03T03:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/?p=14538"},"modified":"2019-06-02T15:07:25","modified_gmt":"2019-06-02T20:07:25","slug":"tennessee-board-of-regents-to-look-at-recommendations-on-student-tuition-mandatory-fees-at-june-4th-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/2019\/06\/02\/tennessee-board-of-regents-to-look-at-recommendations-on-student-tuition-mandatory-fees-at-june-4th-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennessee Board of Regents to look at recommendations on Student Tuition, Mandatory Fees at June 4th meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-386361\" title=\"Tennessee Board of Regents - TBR\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Tennessee-Board-of-Regents.jpg\" alt=\"Tennessee Board of Regents - TBR\" width=\"250\" height=\"131\"><strong>Nashville, TN<\/strong> &#8211; On Tuesday, June 4th, 2019, two committees of the Tennessee Board of Regents and the chairs of all the board\u2019s committees will meet in Nashville \u2013 including the Finance and Business Operations Committee, which will make its recommendations on student tuition and mandatory fees for the 2019-20 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>The June 4th meetings will be held in the board room at the TBR System Office at 1 Bridgestone Park, Nashville, 37214.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_315122\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Higher-Education.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-315122\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-315122\" title=\"Tennessee Board of Regents increases tuition and fees for State Colleges and Universities.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Higher-Education-480x313.jpg\" alt=\"Tennessee Board of Regents increases tuition and fees for State Colleges and Universities.\" width=\"480\" height=\"313\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-315122\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tennessee Board of Regents increases tuition and fees for State Colleges and Universities.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>The June 4th schedule:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Audit Committee will meet from 10:30am until noon.<\/li>\n<li>The Finance and Business Operations Committee will meet at 12:45pm.<\/li>\n<li>The committee chairs will convene immediately following adjournment of the Finance and Business Operations Committee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Audit Committee\u2019s agenda includes informational reporting on various audit findings and recommendations, audit reports and reviews, and internal audit updates; revisions to Fiscal Year 2019 internal audit plans; review of the system wide internal audit budget for FY 2020, and a non-public executive session.<\/p>\n<p>The Finance and Business Operations Committee\u2019s agenda includes its recommendations on student tuition and mandatory fees at Tennessee\u2019s 13 community colleges and 27 colleges of applied technology.<\/p>\n<p>The committee met April 23rd and May 22nd to review tuition and fee proposals. Its June 4th recommendations will be forwarded to the full Board of Regents for final review and action at the board\u2019s June 21st quarterly meeting, to be held at Volunteer State Community College. Combined tuition and mandatory fee increases for the 2019-20 academic year cannot exceed a 2.5 percent ceiling approved by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission on May 17th.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately following the Finance and Business Operations Committee meeting, chairs of the board\u2019s six standing committees will convene to review a draft agenda for the June 20-21 quarterly meeting, and to receive staff reports on finance and business, personnel and compensation, the TBR Digital Engagement Initiative ,and proposed revisions to two TBR policies \u2013 one on diversity and one on development and approval of policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>[320left]All meetings are open to the public, except for the executive session portion of the Audit Committee.
