The products, all produced in Tennessee and part of the Pick Tennessee Products program, were judged on originality, taste and packaging.<\/p>\n<p>Javaneh Hemmat\u2019s \u201cHummus Chick\u201d won first place, dubbed the \u201cPick of Tennessee.\u201d Hummus Chick is a Nashville based company built around freshly made varieties of hummus packaged for retail and wholesale markets.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_349141\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Javaneh-Hemmat\u2019s-\u201cHummus-Chick.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-349141\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-349141\" title=\"Javaneh Hemmat\u2019s \u201cHummus Chick\u201d\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Javaneh-Hemmat\u2019s-\u201cHummus-Chick-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"Javaneh Hemmat\u2019s \u201cHummus Chick\u201d\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-349141\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Javaneh Hemmat\u2019s \u201cHummus Chick\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->\u201cFood made with love tastes better when it\u2019s shared with others,\u201d Hemmat said. Her hummus has also been honored as a past nominee for the Martha Stewart American Made Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Willa\u2019s Shortbread, owned and operated by Eric Rion in Madison, won second place and Lynchburg Cake and Candy Company, owned by Billy and Nancy Thomas in Lynchburg, won third place.<\/p>\n<p>Honorable mentions include: Susan Binkley\u2019s Out of the Blue Granola from Monteagle; Matt Rogers\u2019 infused honey products, RogersMade, from Chattanooga; and Maryann Byrd\u2019s Southern Belle Biscuit Company in Nashville.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Skin Naturals skin care products won a new artisan non-food product award this year. Renee Whitfield produces Happy Skin Naturals in Sevierville.<\/p>\n<p>All winning products and all Pick Tennessee tradeshow exhibitors can be found on the Pick Tennessee Products <a href=\"http:\/\/www.picktnproducts.org\"  target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pick Tennessee Products is the Tennessee Department of Agriculture\u2019s statewide program to connect Tennessee farmers, farmers markets and local food makers to consumers.
