\"AllstateNashville, TN<\/strong> – With gifts, holiday treats and d\u00e9cor, the holiday season is a favorite time of year for many. But, according to a new Holiday Home Hazards poll by Allstate, holiday planning can also create some unexpected hazards.<\/p>\n

Despite this years\u2019 unseasonably warm weather, it is important that Tennesseans don\u2019t put off preparing their homes for upcoming colder temperatures.<\/p>\n

The third annual Allstate Holiday Home Hazards poll revealed the top season specific damage that occurs for Tennessee residents is burst pipes from freezing with an increase of 1518%.<\/p>\n

While burst pipes tops the list, an increase in home fires may be the greatest cause for concern due to the fact that the volunteer state has the sixth highest home fire fatality rate in the country.<\/p>\n

In fact, this year Allstate partnered with the Red Cross for a Home Fire Safety Campaign to help raise awareness about home fire safety to help combat home fire related fatalities. Now, equipped with data from the Holiday Home Hazards Poll, Allstate is continuing working to help Tennesseans better protect themselves and their loved ones.<\/p>\n
