{"id":10112,"date":"2015-06-17T23:45:59","date_gmt":"2015-06-18T04:45:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/?p=10112"},"modified":"2015-06-17T22:00:41","modified_gmt":"2015-06-18T03:00:41","slug":"tennessee-bureau-of-investigation-indicts-former-benton-county-animal-control-officer-on-theft-and-misconduct-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.paristn.net\/articles\/2015\/06\/17\/tennessee-bureau-of-investigation-indicts-former-benton-county-animal-control-officer-on-theft-and-misconduct-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennessee Bureau of Investigation indicts Former Benton County Animal Control Officer on Theft and Misconduct Charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-121927\" title=\"Tennessee Bureau of Investigation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/tbi-logo.gif\" alt=\"Tennessee Bureau of Investigation\" width=\"190\" height=\"180\" \/><strong>Jackson, TN<\/strong> &#8211; A joint investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and investigators with the State Comptroller\u2019s Office has resulted in a former Benton County animal control officer being indicted on charges of theft and misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>At the request of 24th District Attorney General Matt Stowe, TBI Special Agents, working alongside investigators with the State Comptroller\u2019s Office, began investigating Holland Marie Craig on January 26th.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Holland-Marie-Craig.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-314955\" title=\"Holland Marie Craig\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Holland-Marie-Craig-480x360.jpg\" alt=\"Holland Marie Craig\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><!--more-->During the course of the investigation, Agents discovered that from July 2013 through July 2014 while Craig was working as a Benton County animal control officer, she collected more than $3,600 from customers and county funds.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation revealed that Craig did not properly deposit the money, and instead used the funds for her own benefit. Craig\u2019s employment with Benton County was terminated in July 2014.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the Benton County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Craig, 30, with one count of Theft of Property over $1,000 and one count of Official Misconduct.
