2019 Deer Archery Hunting Season opens September 28th

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) says the 2019 deer archery-only hunting season opens statewide in Tennessee on Saturday, September 28th. The archery season dates in five of the state’s deer hunting units are the same. The dates are September 28th-October 25th and October 28th-November 8th.

There are ample opportunities for deer hunters in Tennessee. There are more than 100 wildlife management areas and refuges across the state managed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency ranging in various sizes.

TWRA announces Deer and Bear Archery Season Opens

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The 2015 deer archery-only hunting season opened statewide in Tennessee on Saturday, September 26th. The archery season dates in all three of the state’s deer hunting units are the same. The dates are September 26th-October 30th and November 2nd-6th

Tennessee is divided into three deer units for better management, A, B, and L. The antlerless deer bag limits are four in Units A and B deer management areas and three per day in Unit L areas. The antlered deer bag limit is a total of two for the entire deer season. A hunter may take his two antlered deer during any season, but no more than one per day. [Read more]

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency announces Young Sportsman Deer Hunt set for October 25th-26th

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The first of two Tennessee young sportsman deer hunts for the 2014-15 season will be held the weekend of October 25th-26th.

Youth ages 6-16 years of age may participate, Young sportsmen must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult, 21 or older who must remain in position to take immediate control of the hunting device.

The adult must also comply with the fluorescent orange regulations as specified for legal hunters. Multiple youth may be accompanied by a single qualifying adult. [Read more]

Land Between the Lakes - LBLGolden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area invites the public to participate in archery deer season which begins in September.

All hunters must possess State Hunting License/Deer Permit, Land Between The Lakes Hunter Use Permit (age 16 and over), and a Hunter Safety Card according to Kentucky or Tennessee state regulations.

Tennessee Wildlife Resoureces Agency reports 2012 Gun Season for Deer Underway

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Tennessee sportsmen harvested more than 17,000 deer statewide on the opening weekend of gun season for deer as harvest numbers continue to be reported.

The 17,093 reported as of noon (CST) on Monday surpasses the 2011 total of 14,463 over the same time frame in 2011.

Since the initial segment of archery season for deer began on September 22nd, 84,825 deer have been harvested, an increase of 3,522 over the same period as last year. [Read more]

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Tennessee’s 2012 deer archery-only season opens statewide on Saturday, September 22nd. The archery season dates in all three of the state’s deer hunting units are the same. The dates are September 22nd-October 26th and October 29th-November 2nd.

The antlerless deer bag limits by units are four in Units A and B deer management areas and three per day in Unit L areas. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission approved the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s proposal to increase the antlerless archery season bag limit in Unit B to four deer per season at its 2012-13 seasons setting meeting in May. Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – The Kentucky portion of Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area archery deer season opened Saturday, September 1st, 2012, and runs through Monday, January 21st, 2013. The only exception is for quota hunt days and the day immediately before each quota hunt.

The quota hunt days for the Kentucky portion are October 27th-28th and November 17th-18th. The archery season for the Tennessee portion is September 22nd to January 6th. The quota hunt days for the Tennessee portion are October 20th-21st, November 9th-10th, and November 24th-25th. [Read more]

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area deer archery season is open Saturday, September 24th, 2011 through January 16th, 2012. The only exception is for quota hunt days and the day immediately before each quota hunt.

The quota hunt days for the Tennessee portion are October 15th-16th, November 11th-12th, and November 26th-27th. The quota hunt days for the Kentucky portion are October 29th-30th and November 19th-20th.

Deer hunting provides a unique recreational opportunity within the LBL region and helps maintain a healthy deer population. LBL invites visitors to hone their archery skills on the archery practice range and field archery range trail at the Golden Pond Target Range. The range is located just off US68/KY80 and is open from dawn to dusk on a first-come, first-served basis. [Read more]
