Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee Slated for September 10th-17th

Registration Deadline Extended to September 1st

Tennessee State ParksNashville, TN – With less than a month away, bicycle enthusiasts across the state are encouraged to register for the Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee, slated for September 10th-17th. In its 22nd year, this year’s seven-day ride will feature a loop through some of Middle Tennessee’s most stunning landscapes.

Originating at Montgomery Bell State Park, this year’s route will feature a combination of rolling hills, valleys and some flat terrain. Cyclists can expect to experience beautiful, rural Tennessee scenery and interesting back roads along the way, including the Natchez Trace Parkway and visits to several Tennessee State Parks such as Dunbar Cave. Week-delayed 17th annual Governors Bass tourney set to cast off Sunday

APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – After a week’s delay, the 17th Annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament will cast off Sunday at Kentucky Lake, with boat launching from Paris Landing, Tenneesse, State Park.

The tourney originally scheduled for May 14th, was postponed as a result of extremely high waters and flooding resulting from recent rains.

For the first time in tourney history last year’s tourney was delay—two weeks—for similar water/rain-related reasons. The tourney still drew 269 boats.

17th annual Governors Bass Tournament has been postponed until May 22nd

APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – The 17th Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament has been postponed until Sunday, May 22nd as a result of extremely high waters and flooding resulting from recent rains.

As a result, it means after the bass tourney successfully dodge storms and weather-related conditions for the first 15 years of its existence, the last two tournaments have been postponed. Last season’s torrential downpours and flooding caused that tourney to be postponed to Sunday, May 23rd. Last year’s tourney, despite the delay, still drew 269 boats.

Tennessee State ParksTennessee - Bunnies! Buffets! From east to west, Tennessee State Parks will be holding several fun, family-friendly events this Easter weekend. Especially designed for the little ones and an annual highlight are several Easter Egg Hunts, slated for Saturday, April 23rd, at Big Ridge, Fort Pillow, Natchez Trace, Pickwick Landing, Standing Stone and T.O. Fuller state parks. Cedars of Lebanon will host their Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 24th.

17th annual Governors Bass Tourney just around the corner

Nashville, TN – Make plans now to ring in 2011 with a number of special New Year’s Eve celebrations at Tennessee State Parks inns and restaurants, including dinner buffets, holiday room discounts, music and dancing!

New Year’s Eve dinner will be served December 31st at Cumberland Mountain, Fall Creek Falls, Henry Horton, Montgomery Bell, Paris Landing and Pickwick Landing state parks. This special dinner will include a variety of entrees, dessert and non-alcoholic sparkling beverages. Seating times and prices will vary by park, and reservations are encouraged.
